Altemus Family Touch Labor Scholarship

The Altemus Family Touch Labor Scholarship was established to expand access to higher education and support economic mobility for individuals facing barriers to achieving these goals independently.

The term “touch labor” typically refers to hands-on work in fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing. Reflecting this focus, the scholarship provides need-based financial assistance to San Jacinto College students enrolled in touch labor-related training programs. Eligible areas of study include construction, industrial technology, manufacturing, and STEM-related programs. The Altemus Family Touch Labor Scholarship is committed to empowering hardworking students with the resources they need to build strong, skilled careers.

This scholarship is awarded annually and recipients are selected by the Foundation based on established guidelines and the following criteria:

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Enrollment in at least six (6) credit hours, or part-time status as defined by the student’s program schedule.
