Chesmar Teacher Scholarship

The Chesmar Teacher Scholarship Fund is intended for students with a stated intention to obtain a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science in Education at San Jacinto College and become a certified teacher in an independent school district. The scholarship is available to students who enroll in any of the following programs: Associate of Applied Science in Child Development or Bachelor of Applied Science in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Scholarship recipients are selected in accordance with established procedures. Recipients of this scholarship will be required to sign a pledge to work as an educator in a local public school district for three (3) years upon completion of their degree.

Scholarships are awarded for one academic year and are renewable annually if eligibility is met. Scholarship covers tuition and other related course material and fees for eligible students.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The program of study must include one of the following: Associate of Science in Child Development or Bachelor of Applied Science in Education
  • Enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours for each term awarded.
  • Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA each semester.
