Kevin D. Burleson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

From a young age, Kevin David Burleson dreamed of flying. He earned his private pilot license at 17 and continued his studies at San Jacinto College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree before transferring to Central Texas College and the University of Central Texas, where he graduated with honors with a B.S. in Aviation and Aeronautical Science. Kevin went on to pursue a lifelong career in aviation, serving as a first officer and captain with American Eagle before flying as a first officer with American Airlines.

Kevin was a devoted husband, father, and friend to many. Family and friends were at the heart of his life, and he took great pride and joy in guiding, supporting, and celebrating his children’s achievements. Known for his curiosity, love of learning and adventure, quick wit, and sense of humor, Kevin inspired those around him both in and out of the cockpit.

The Kevin D. Burleson Memorial Fund supports students pursuing aerospace studies, helping them reach new heights while carrying forward Kevin’s legacy of devotion, perseverance, and excellence.
